Porsche Centre Dubai delivers Panamera S E-Hybrid cars to Dubai Police

Dubai. Three new Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrids have joined the fleet of luxury cars at Dubai Police, taking sports car e-mobility performance to a new level. In an official handover at Dubai Police Headquarters, Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief, was joined by Mr K. Rajaram, Chief Executive Officer of Al Nabooda Automobiles, the official Porsche importer and distributor in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

The delivery of the new hybrid vehicles comes just days after the Dubai government announced it was looking at ways to promote eco-friendly vehicles and is considering incentives for electric models.

For years, Porsche has been at the forefront of electronic mobility in the performance and luxury class, and through new models continues to push the boundaries of possibility. The Panamera S E-Hybrid is a good example of how Porsche offers hybrid models as authentic sports cars, resulting in extra performance and efficiency. With 416 horsepower, acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 270 km/h, it is a Porsche Gran Turismo through and through.

Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina said: “The Panamera S E-Hybrid is joining our world class fleet of luxury patrol cars. We are especially pleased to welcome this powerful and innovative car to our task force as it is environmentally friendly. There is no other hybrid vehicle like it and we thank our partners at Al Nabooda Automobiles for their support.”

The Panamera S E-Hybrid, a parallel plug-in hybrid model, provides a total concept that networks the car and its driver in an intelligent way. It can drive considerable distances in all-electric mode, with a range of up to 36 kilometres and an electric driving top speed of 135 km/h. In the NEDC, the Panamera S E-Hybrid consumes 3.1 l/100 km, which equates to 71 g/km CO2 emissions.

The workings of the combustion engine, electric motor and high-voltage battery are synchronised by the electronic engine management. The car can be powered by the combustion engine alone, by the electric machine alone, or by both units working together. The high-voltage battery is recharged in less than four hours when connected to a conventional household electrical outlet or, whilst driving, through the process of brake energy recovery.

The Panamera S E-Hybrid is the ideal sports car

K. Rajaram added: “With its sporty performance and utmost efficiency, the Panamera S E-Hybrid is the ideal sports car to join the Dubai Police fleet and I know the officers who will drive the car are going to be impressed with its power. Our support of Dubai Police goes back many years and I applaud their approach in increasing their number of hybrid models to help patrol our roads.”

The three new Panamera S E-Hybrids will be driven by patrol officers on the roads of Dubai from this month.
