Al Nabooda Automobiles LLC, Porsche Centre Dubai and Northern Emirates, launched a new era with the reveal of the company’s first fully electric sports car, the Taycan, at an innovative drive-in venue at the Dubai Design District on October 27. The event was the first contactless car launch of its kind in the MENA region combining safety with spectacle. Speeches and product introductions were pre-recorded, attending staff underwent a PCR test prior to the event, guests were temperature screened and underwent a contactless check in process before enjoying the launch event from within the safety and comfort of their cars at a specially created drive in theatre. More than 200 guests, seated in 100 cars, attended the event, which included an impressive aerial show with no less than 120 drones visually telling the story of the evolution of the Taycan from the first hybrid vehicle, the Lohner-Porsche developed by Ferdinand Porsche in 1898, through to today. In addition, a striking display of light and sound on the façade of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, was integrated into the show.
