Al Nabooda Automobiles takes the Audi Driving Experience to nurseries around Dubai to help youngsters learn good road safety habits
Dubai, 29 March 2015 – More than 100 young children in Dubai have taken part in the road safety awareness initiative delivered by Audi, Al Nabooda Automobiles.
The ‘Audi Heroes in Training’ programme was rolled out last week at the Curious Minds Nursery and The Kensington Nursery, managed by Bidayaat, which saw children aged three to five learn a combination of fun and basic road safety education. The programme follows on from its successful launch event at the Audi Terminal on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai.
A fleet of mini electric Audi R8 Spyder models gave the children an entertaining and educational ride on an interactive course complete with traffic lights, road signs, junctions and roundabouts. Before they were allowed to take to the roads, the children undertook a brief classroom session outlining the general rules behind the wheel and why road safety is so important.
“This programme has been designed with younger children in mind and is a fun way to get across a serious message,” said Helena O’Pray, Director of Nursery Operations at Bidayaat.
“We’re excited to be part of the initiative from such an early stage. The children loved driving the course and feedback from parents so far has been very positive. Children can help encourage their families to take more care on the roads and so I hope to see more of these awareness attempts in future.”
Ali Al Nabooda, General Manager, Audi, Al Nabooda Automobiles, the official Audi distributor in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, added: “It’s never too early to learn basic road safety and we hope these lessons will stay with the children as they grow up to be the next generation of drivers on the road.”
The ‘Audi Heroes in Training’ programme for children is available at selected schools throughout Dubai and the Northern Emirates this year. Contact the Audi showroom in Dubai, +971 (0) 4 378 4444 for more information and to find out about registering your school.
