Porsche Centre Dubai supports Dubai Municipality Car Free Day

Dubai. Porsche Centre Dubai, Al Nabooda Automobiles, partnered with Dubai Municipality during the annual Car Free Day to showcase how advanced ‘green’ motoring technology can help protect the environment and contribute towards sustainable development. The awareness campaign, which was split into environmental, educational and medical pillars, aimed to raise people’s knowledge regarding some of the recent issues of carbon footprint and sustainability. In a bid to reduce the traffic congestion and carbon dioxide emissions in the streets of Dubai, the Car Free Day initiative is in line with Expo 2020’s transportation and sustainability objectives. The Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid, the world’s first plug-in hybrid in the luxury class, had a starring role in the Environmental Exhibition which took place on 4th of February.

The sixth edition of Car Free Day

Mr. K. Rajaram, CEO, Al Nabooda Automobiles LLC, the sole distributor for Porsche in Dubai and the Northern Emirates said: “We are committed to playing a part in helping to pave the way for a green and sustainable future in the UAE. “The sixth edition of Car Free Day gives us an excellent opportunity to support Dubai Municipality in its drive to safeguard the environment. We see this as part of our commitment to assist broad government initiatives in the UAE to address the challenges involved in reducing the country’s carbon footprint.”

Porsche is a market-leader in the production of plug-in hybrid cars. Alongside the Panamera S E-Hybrid, the brand also offers the Cayenne S E-Hybrid – the world’s first plug-in hybrid in the premium SUV segment as well the 918 Spyder, Porsche’s hybrid super car. The Stuttgart-based sports car manufacturer is the only brand to offer three plug-in models, which are all currently available from Al Nabooda Automobiles’ showrooms. “With hybrids across three segments, Porsche E-Mobility delivers luxury, high performance cars which are exceptionally practical and designed with the environment in mind,” added Rajaram.
