Dubai, UAE, July 01, 2026: Volkswagen Al Nabooda Automobiles was recognised with a Sponsor Appreciation Award during the Dubai Schools Games Year-End Awards Ceremony, acknowledging the company’s continued commitment to youth development, school sport, and community engagement in the UAE.

The ceremony marked the conclusion of the programme’s most successful season to date, bringing together student-athletes, educators, schools, organisers, and partners from across Dubai. During the 2025–26 season, 14,654 student-athletes from 195 schools competed across 27 sports and more than 100 event days, reinforcing the Dubai Schools Games’ position as one of the emirate’s leading school sports initiatives.

It ranks as one of the longest strategic partnerships in UAE sport between an automotive brand and a professional association football league, which reflects a commitment that has deepened as UAE football has grown.

Since 2009, Al Nabooda Automobiles has invested in the wider football ecosystem in the UAE. The brand has watched the domestic game mature into one of the region’s most ambitious sporting institutions and has chosen to grow alongside it. The league itself has become one of the region’s most followed competitions. Since the game turned professional in 2008, it has grown to 14 clubs competing across 182 matches each season.

Dubai Schools Games offers a free, inclusive platform that has engaged over 8,000 students from 163 schools in 20 diverse sports in the 2023-24 season. On Wednesday, July 31, the UAE Pro League and Al Nabooda Automobiles LLC announced the renewal of their partnership agreement, extending Al Nabooda’s official sponsorship of the Pro League competitions for another three years.

The signing ceremony took place at the Rixos JBR Hotel in Dubai, attended by H.E. Jamal Hamed Al Marri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Pro League, and Mr. Victor Dalmau, Chief Operating Officer of Al Nabooda Automobiles, along with representatives from both sides.

This agreement continues a partnership that began in the 2009-2010 season and aligns with the UAE Pro League’s 2020-2030 strategic plan.

The plan aims to enhance commercial partnerships and increase revenues, benefiting professional clubs and UAE football as a whole.
