To create a lasting sense of road safety awareness among young children who are, the drivers of the future Porsche launched a comprehensive Road Safety Awareness campaign targeting children between 3 – 7 years old. “Road safety is very serious, and if you can get the message across to children at an early age and make it stick, they’ll carry it forward in life and be more aware of how important it is by the time they’re ready to drive”. Said by Mohammed Bin Sulayem – President, ACTUAE and 14-time Middle East Rallying Champion who was also a thorough supporter of the initiative. The campaign was divided into 3 stages for the children: Classroom Session: An interactive classroom session, about road signs and general road safety tips with the help of reading, drawing and writing materials. Practical Session: The children are taken to the PKDS track for their practical “Road Test”, where they drive the pedal cars around a track with road signs and features such as roundabouts, junctions, pedestrian crossings, bridges and tunnels. Test: At the conclusion of their driving session, the children receive their PKDS-branded “First Driving License”. To measure the PKDS program effectiveness, a post-activity quiz is to be conducted a few days after the program.
