Our Brand New Facility at the Dubai Industrial City – Al Nabooda Automobiles Bodyshop
The beautiful state-of-the-art Facility is due to be opening soon. The facility will be the Central PDI Hub & the Paint and Body Shop for all our brands built on a 1.3 million sq ft site at the Dubai Industrial City. ALEC Energy was awarded the contract to develop a 6.8MW private solar power plant which would provide the Bodyshop with 70% of their total energy needs annually for the next 25 years.
The solar power plant will include 25,000 solar panels on their car park and roofs, which will produce 10 million units of electrical energy in a year. The result means an Offset of 5.3 million kg of CO2 every year. Equivalent to offsetting the annual CO2 emissions of 1600 passenger vehicles.
The Facility would also be having its very own Club House built on a 500 sqm site and a Parcour Driving Experience Track for the luxury of our customers. The Race Track would include: 1.2 km Test Track & an Off-Road Test Drive Area which will include a Tilt Ramp, Torsion Ramp, Water Test Drive, Corduroy Road Test, Angular Ramp and an Up& over Ramp. This is to ensure that our customers can have both an on-road as well as an off-road driving experience.
The Total number of Carparks at this Facility would be approximately 2100 which are inclusive of Customer Car Parking, Damaged Car Parking, Car Storage, Space for DEWA Vehicles, 23M Truck Parking & Mini Bus Parking.
The Car parks in this Facility have been designed to suit electric car charging stations using the Porsche e-mobility concept, one of the first of its kind in the UAE. The system will provide electric energy to the facility, protection of vehicles from extreme weather as well as charging stations for hybrid and electric versions of Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen models. The design of the power plant is done considering local weather conditions with the emphasis on optimizing energy production, available space and ease of cleaning.
Mr K. Rajaram, CEO of Al Nabooda Automobiles said, “We are proud to be able to play a role in fulfilling the vision set out by the Dubai Supreme Energy Council by bringing this power plant in our Body and Paint-shop which will be the largest private Solar Park in the region. We see this investment as a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility towards promoting sustainability.”
